Know your Author and Book Publishing Rights

Knowing your rights and when to call an attorney is important as an author, publisher, vendor, and as a person.

Many times, authors:

  • Don’t understand how to read a contract and negotiate the details;
  • Don’t know how to use their own or others’ materials—i.e., pictures, diaries, etc.
  • Don’t understand the use copyrights or trademarks in their books, blog posts, and social media postings.

Copyright laws have recently changed recently … it’s TIME to update what you know; what you thought you know; and what you need to know.

Saturday, April 3, 2021 will provide a practical approach that can save you a lot of money, time, and aggravation.

Julie Bernard  … is the CEO of Bernard IP Law. She is a registered patent and intellectual property attorney who brings twenty-five years of experience to the table. Julie focuses her practice on US and international patents, US and international trademarks, copyrights, intellectual property portfolio strategy and management, transactions and licenses, and technology transfer.
