Authoring, Writing and Book Publishing Tips

Here are 4 essential tips for authors and Amazon:

1.    You need more than 84 book reviews (this is down from 101 … so good needs—still a book load to gather) before Amazon will recommend your book to other visitors in the section that says, “People who bought this also bought…” GO get them … ask and re-ask … it’s what you have to do

2.    Book buyers will immediately start the judging of your book by the cover. Period. How your book page looks is your first priority. The best pages have a cover photo, a “Look Inside” feature, a description with lots of white space and bullet points, an author bio, a price that’s competitive with the page count, editorial reviews, and a professional publisher name.

3.    Create a “real” sounding name for your publishing company. You do not want a company name that sounds like it’s you personally, the name of your company or your book title. or your book.

4.    As soon as you have your book posted on Amazon, create your Author Central page. Do not wait on this. Author Central lets you write a longer profile. Import your blog onto your page, videos, other books, your social media links as well as other things to market that you can’t do with the standard Amazon profile. And super hot sauce: by clicking on the “Contact” page, you can get Amazon to call you if you need help … like in FIVE seconds. Love this feature.
