Authoring, Writing and Book Publishing Tips

More great summer tips from the webinar delivered by Joel Friedlander, Joan Stewart, Amy Collins, Kelly Johnson and Judith Briles … all presenters at the 3rd annual Publishing at Sea conference January 24-31, 2016. You can get info on it here.

  1. Use both CreateSpace and Ingram for your print books for better POD distribution. Similar, yet different. Bookstores will order from IngramSpark; most won’t from CreateSpace. Quality at IngramSpark is superior to CreateSpace … CreateSpace will show your book available where if you only have IngramSpark, it may not.
  2. Turn your nonfiction how-to or instructional book into an online course. Start creating “mail box” moneys for your efforts. Yes, it takes work to first create–but once done, it’s done.
  3. Maintain your OWN account at Bowker for your publisher and title listings. Don’t use others under their umbrella. You want your own identity.
