Hootsuite is a social media dashboard that allows you to measure and manage your social media networks through one account. You can schedule tweets and messages, track mentions, review people’s Klout scores and analyze social media traffic.

You have the option to post tweets immediately, or schedule them for specific dates and times to go live.

Once you see how this tool saves you significant time and energy, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it!

Then, we will dive into other tools to use … when you leave, you will find that you have just found at least one extra hour in your day!

With Pinterest having such a focus on images, we tend to forget that is just one aspect of how to utilize Pinterest.

This workshop will review various methods of using Pinterest for your book and business including:

  • How you can drive traffic to your blog through Pinterest.
  • Conduct a contest through Pinterest.
  • How you can add your Audioboo recordings to your Pinterest and not only grow your followers but offer “snippets” from your book.
  • How to monetize your book and other products with a Pinterest boost.

This workshop will help you set up your Pinterest account (if needed) and then walk through examples and demos to learn methods for using Pinterest.

Instagram is a quick and fun way to share your life and stories using pictures and video.  Come learn about Instagram, and after a tutorial in setting up Instagram, we’ll start capturing those moments for you to share!

Get ready for the Author U Extravaganza’s Hot Event …








FOUR HOT sessions will be available at the 2015 Extravaganza May 7-9 … only ONE Attendee can get his or her toe in the Author Shark Tank at a time. Our panel will listen for a few minutes to your pitch (hear/read that: LISTEN) and then decide IF and HOW they will help the author in the book and publishing quest.

The Author Sharks like passion, persistence and excellence. They will proved incentives to writers and authors who demonstrate it in publishing and authoring through a variety of awards that pertain to their own expertise and product line.

What’s the value to you? It could be money; it could be time; it could be a product–as in I have this that I sell all day for $497 and it’s yours, free; it could be the joint venture creation of a product that features the author and his or her book—that is blasted to mega thousands to buy; it could be printing reduction; it could be a book cover; it could be a discount on a layout; it could be … What it could be will be solely dependent on YOU and YOUR PITCH to hook them and could be worth many thousands of dollars. Or if you bomb, you may only end up with a shark tooth! To enter the tank, there’s a fee.

Last year, participants came away with many thousands of dollars. One even landed a round trip to Europe to complete the biography being written by Author U member Nancy Geise.

Author Shark Tank participants are identified on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will get pre-conference coaching from Judith Briles prior to entering the Tank.
