You’ve written your book and polished it so that it shines. Now comes the hard part: getting it out to readers. How do you tackle this difficult task? One of your first steps should be soliciting reviews of your book.

In this age of consumers consulting reviews before going to restaurants, ordering products, seeing movies – and just about anything else – book reviews have never been more important in attracting an audience.  Still, for self publishers, this task is challenging.  Competing with the hundreds of traditionally published books for reviews has always been problematic. And now, with publications downsizing and eliminating their book sections even as the number of self published titles skyrockets, it takes marketing savvy and knowledge of how the system works to solicit meaningful reviews.

In this Saturday Mornings program, they will address topics such as:

  • Why are reviews important?
  • Can every book benefit from a review?
  • Are all reviews created equal?
  • What are the dos and don’ts of approaching reviewers?
  • How do you put reviews to their best use once you have them?
  • When is it best to solicit articles, rather than reviews?

Led by the former books editor of the Rocky Mountain News, Patti Thorn, and respected literary agent Patricia Moosbrugger, this workshop will give you the tools you need to get started obtaining the critical reviews that will help you sell your book.

YES! How to get book reviews that count: Looking for book love in all the right places! is just where you should be on February 6th.
