Authoring, Writing and Book Publishing Tips

If you have a book signing coming, here are a few tips glimmer from our PublishingAtSea.com participants during theirs:

1.     Don’t sit … stand up to greet your buyers. Why? You’ll sell more if you stand, not sit, behind a table. It’s eyeball to eyeball. I prefer the cocktail table to use for signing on.

2.     Gather names of buyers. Have a signup sheet for name and email.

3.     Get visitors involved. Nancy Rango, author of “The President Did What?” greeted anyone who stopped at her table on the PublishingAtSea.com cruise with a question from her book: it’s all about trivia around U.S. presidents. Stopping passengers this way, they had fun as she often stomped the … then bought the book.

4.     Be realistic … your book won’t be a fit for all. Pivot and suggest for family members and friends—there’s always birthdays and holidays coming up.

Here are a few of our authors who sold books on the PublishingAtSea cruise in January. Next years is slated for January 21-28, 2018. Interested? Call or email me … we would love to have you.
