image001 (3)Your book title is critical. Most authors love tweaking and re-tweaking words (sometimes way too much), yet they do a “rush” as they get to the finish line and titling the book.

Don’t rush it. Create a list of potential ones. Chew on them. Ask others who would be a potential buyer (family and close friends love you—they won’t give you the push back your title may need to fine tune).

Your book title is every bit as important as the book’s content. In fact, it’s the #1 thing on the cover that does the SHOUT OUT—PCK ME UP. It’s a critical influencer for a buyer’s decision making process. Without a compelling title (along with cover design and back cover text), readers may never get as far as reading the inside of your book … don’t blow it!

Start paying attention to what the tabloids do with their titles to GRAB the attention of people—especially those standing in line at the grocery store. The National Enquirer is fair game and don’t forget Cosmo magazine. Both pay nice salaries to their headline creators. And when you think you narrow down your choices, make sure you check them out for the “emotional” grab via AMInstitute.com headline analyzer. Go for at least a score of 40 or higher.
